If lounging on a beautiful tropical beach is not your ideal of a totally perfect vacation, not to worry, on Koh Samui there are enough activities to satisfy even the most die-hard!

● Fishing
Some great sport fishing can be found off the waters of Koh Samui. There are many companies that can organize a trip or tour for you. Most of the tours and charters leave from the southwest corner of the island at Tong Krut.

● Thai Cooking Class
If you are game enough to visit Thailand, then there is a very good chance you love to eat Thai food. If you like to cook, and want to learn something that will be with you for the rest of your life, why not take a day and learn how to cook some delicious Thai food?

● Island Tours
Koh Samui is blessed with an extremely diverse landscape. From quiet beaches with a rolling surf, to palm tree and plantation filled peaks at over 600 meters. Quite a viewpoint given the small size of the island. Many of the roads off the main roads are very rough, dirt tracks and require a 4x4 vehicle. Vehicles are available for rent.

● Night Life
What exactly are you looking for? A place to dance all night long, into the wee hours of the morning? A quiet, romantic dinner for two beside the ocean? On Koh Samui you can have it as quiet or as active as you want.

The Full Moon party is one of the most unique experiences in Koh Samui! You can take any kind of boat to Koh Phangan, party the night away on the beach under the full moon, then take a boat back to your room in Koh Samui. A night you will never forget.

Chaweng is definitely where the action is, Samui's most popular nightlife area has a variety of venues from classy air-conditioned places with imported DJ's such as the Mint Bar, to outdoor venues featuring live Thai and foreign bands.

If dance clubs are not your scene, then there are plenty of other fun ways to spend the night; great restaurants, outdoor cafes, Internet cafes, stores and stalls to bargain the night away, or just sit on the beach and look at the stars!

● Scuba Diving
Some of the best Scuba Diving in the world is located close to Koh Samui. The Gulf of Thailand offers clear, warm water, with an abundance of marine and plant life. Diving here will be a memorable experience.

There are many different dive shops, offering a variety of packages, from beginners' lessons, intermediate dives, advanced dives, night dives and rescue dives. A relatively new addition to the island is a hyperbaric chamber. Located on the north coast this chamber is a welcome addition to the sport diving scene on Koh Samui.

● Golf
Opened in 2003, is the Santiburi Samui Country Club and is Samui's first, and currently only, professional standard golf course. The course in situated in the hills above Maenam and has spectacular views of Koh Phangan. The course requires a reasonable degree of proficiency and is probably not recommended for beginners
